About Me
I am a California born, British trained homeopath, fully licensed, insured and registered with the Society of Homeopaths. I have volunteered for the Society of Homeopaths, the Travelling Homeopaths Collective and I co-organised the Cambridge Society of Homeopaths.
I have been a volunteer with the Saffron Walden National Childbirth Trust (NCT) for many years and ran the local Toy Library for 5 years. This has led to a particular interest in working with mums, both new and well established. All parents need support. I am in a good position to listen and to help.
As a registered member of the Society of Homeopaths, I am bound by the Society’s Codes of Ethics and its complaints procedures.
What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy looks at the person as a whole, not just the individual symptoms, by taking into account all symptoms at every level - physical, mental and emotional. We believe that individual symptoms are all connected and together show the overall picture - the complete state of health of an individual.
Homeopathic remedies are made from plants, animals, minerals and other substances, working on a ‘like cures like’ philosophy. For example, cutting onions causes your eyes to water. The homeopathic remedy made from onions is also known to help in hay fever. Homeopathic remedies remove the same symptoms which it would itself cause in a healthy person.
Remedies come in liquid, powder or tablet form. They are non-toxic and safe to use for all, including babies and children, pregnant women, the elderly and those with compromised immunity.
What can I expect?
Homeopathic sessions are different than what you will have experienced with your GP. I will ask you specific questions about your symptoms: when they began, what makes them better or worse. But I will also ask you questions about your history; how you operate, how you react to things. The answers will direct me to the remedy most suitable for you – the individual.
The first consultation will last between 60 and 90 minutes. Thereafter, sessions will last 30- 45 minutes. Remedies are included in the cost of the consultation. Concessionary rates are available for clients on low income or benefits.
